IELTS

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a widely recognized English language proficiency test for non-native English speakers who wish to study or work in countries where English is the primary language of communication. IELTS measures an individual’s ability to listen, read, write, and speak English in academic, professional, and social contexts. The test is recognized by over 10,000 organizations globally, including universities, colleges, professional bodies, and immigration authorities. IELTS scores are accepted in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA, among other countries. The test is available in two formats: IELTS Academic, which is designed for individuals who want to study or research in an English-speaking environment, and IELTS General Training, which is designed for individuals who want to work, study, or migrate to an English-speaking country.

Why is IELTS Important

Format of IELTS Test

The IELTS test consists of four components: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each component is designed to assess different aspects of an individual's English language ability.
Each component of the test is scored on a 9-band scale, with scores ranging from 0 (non-user) to 9 (expert user). The overall IELTS score is the average of the scores for the four components. The test taker receives a separate band score for each component, as well as an overall band score, which reflects their ability to use English in a range of contexts.
